From September 17 to 19, 2025, Stuttgart hosted the 28th G-Forum—the largest interdisciplinary scientific conference in the German-speaking world on the topics of entrepreneurship, innovation, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

From September 17 to 19, 2025, the 28th G-Forum took place in Stuttgart – the largest interdisciplinary scientific conference in the German-speaking world on the topics of entrepreneurship, innovation, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

This year's G-Forum was organized by FGF e.V. in cooperation with Stuttgart Media University, the University of Stuttgart, and the University of Hohenheim. The hosts were Prof. Dr. Nils Högsdal, Prof. Dr. Alexander Brem, Prof. Dr. Katharina Hölzle, and Prof. Dr. Andreas Kuckertz.

The conference focused on the topic of entrepreneurial ecosystems, which currently plays a key role in entrepreneurship research. An inspiring keynote speech by Erik Stam provided valuable impetus for future scientific work.

Prof. Dr. Julia de Groote presented—on behalf of our chair—ongoing work on the topics of allyship in startup ecosystems and entrepreneurial well-being.

A personnel change was also announced during the conference: Ulrich Knaup, who has played a decisive role in shaping the G-Forum for more than two decades, was given a ceremonial send-off into retirement. He is succeeded by Madlen Schwing.

In addition to exciting scientific discussions, the G-Forum also provided an opportunity for personal encounters and exchanges with former colleagues. It was particularly gratifying to see Dr. Faisal Saeed Malik again and to discuss the further development of the Jackstädt Center, in which Prof. Dr. Vivien Procher and Prof. Dr. Diemo Urbig have played a key role.

The next G-Forum will take place at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, hosted by Prof. Dr. Diemo Urbig.
